The problem

Your current tariff has never been optimised for your actual usage.

A tariff is set when the supply is first connected, and rarely revisited. Yet your usage keeps changing, and the structures themselves are revised every year.

01

Complex tariff structures

Consumption, demand, capacity, reactive and fixed charges all combine differently on every tariff, with no simple way to compare them.

02

Time-of-use rates

Peak, standard and off-peak prices change by the hour and the day, so the same usage costs more or less depending on when it falls.

03

Seasonal changes

High and low-demand season rates swing the maths twice a year, so a tariff that looks cheap now may cost more in winter.

04

Rules you can't see

The eligibility rules, and the process to compare or change tariff, are rarely made clear, so most businesses never find out what they qualify for.

The solution

Augos prices every available tariff
against your real usage.

We install billing-accuracy meters, use your real site usage, and test it against every available tariff, month by month across a full year, and show the savings opportunity in rands.

01

Real usage, mapped

Your actual usage mapped to each tariff's rules, so the answer reflects how you really run.

02

National tariff database

Every Eskom and municipal tariff, kept current, ready to test against your load.

03

Expert process support

Tariff experts on hand to run the comparison and handle the switch with the utility for you.

04

No commission

We charge a fixed fee for the work and take no share of your savings.

How it works

Three steps. No expertise needed.

Finding the right tariff normally takes specialist knowledge of meters and tariff structures. Augos does the hard part, and gives you the answer in your own platform.

1

Install the Augos meter

State-of-the-art metering, brought online with a guided activation app, streaming your usage straight to the platform.

2

Tariff Comparison

The platform runs your measured usage against every available tariff, month by month, capturing time-of-use, demand and seasonal effects.

3

See the saving, then switch

The comparison shows exactly where a different tariff wins. Make the change yourself, or have our tariff experts handle it with the utility.

What you get

Real, tangible benefits of Tariff Optimisation.

01The right tariff, proven

See, on your own data, which tariff costs you least, before you commit to any change.

02Savings that recur

A tariff change saves every month from then on, with no change to how you operate.

03Switch with support

The platform finds the cheapest tariff. Making the change with the municipality is then up to you, or our tariff experts can do it on your behalf.

04You keep 100%

A fixed fee for the work, never a percentage of your savings the way most brokers charge.

FAQs

Common questions.

Can you handle the switch for us?

Yes. Our tariff experts engage with the utility and handle the change on your behalf. Or you can run the comparison yourself in the platform, then make the switch with your supplier.

Can we always move to the tariff it finds?

Not always. Eligibility depends on your supply size, connection type and the utility's own rules, so the cheapest tariff on paper is not always one you qualify for. Our tariff analysis checks what you can actually move to before you commit.

How is Augos different from the standard market offering?

Two things. Every change we recommend is backed by your real metered data, not an average or an estimate. And the fee is fixed: consultants commonly take a share of the saving for three years after the change, where we take none.

What if there is no better tariff?

Then staying put is the right call, now proven rather than assumed. The meter still earns its place: the same data drives bill verification, energy management and consumption reduction, so the platform keeps paying back even when the tariff does not change.

Does changing tariff disrupt our supply or operations?

No. A tariff is a billing arrangement with your utility, not a physical change to the supply. How you run the site stays the same; only the rate structure you are billed on changes.

Do you need a full year of data?

A full seasonal cycle of metered data gives the strongest comparison, but we can start from your historical bills and refine as the meter builds its own history.

How long until we see the saving?

It depends on your municipality's process, and sometimes the biggest win means timing the change to a seasonal period. We advise on the best moment rather than rush it.

Which utilities and tariffs do you cover?

Eskom and municipal tariffs, kept current as they are revised each year. If your site is on a published South African tariff, it is in scope.

Can you handle multiple sites?

Yes. Every site is compared the same way, and a whole portfolio runs under one platform.
