Augos Assist

The maintenance-response layer. Assist routes an operator's call for help to the right technician, and times every step from the call to the completed repair, so the technician side of a stop is measured, not guessed.

What Assist is

Assist is two things working together: software that runs on the operator terminal and in the Augos cloud, and a rugged handheld the technician carries. The operator raises a call from the terminal; the handheld puts that call in the technician's hand, lets them accept it, work the repair and log what they did. Between them, they capture the part of a stop the pulse sensor can't see, the human maintenance response.

Assist is live today. Where it isn't switched on for a line, the technician-response and wrench phases read zero, and all resolution time lands on the operator. More on that in Performance Overview →

The Assist handheld

A sealed, rugged unit built for the factory floor, carried by the maintenance technician rather than fixed to a line. It is how the technician:

  • Receives the call. When an operator requests assistance, the open call appears on the handheld with the line, the machine and the issue category.
  • Identifies the job by QR. The technician scans a QR code to tie themselves to the exact machine and stoppage, so the response is attributed to the right event with no typing.
  • Logs the response. They accept the call, record the repair, and mark it complete, which is what closes out the wrench phases.

How an assist works

Every assisted stop runs through the same sequence, and each step is a timed phase:

If the operator clears the issue before the technician arrives, they can cancel the call, and the stop is logged as operator-resolved.

What it feeds

Assist is where three of the five phases of an unplanned stop get their numbers: technician response time (call to technician at the machine), active wrench time (hands-on repair) and inactive wrench time (repair stalled). Without it, those phases can't be measured and the whole stop is attributed to the operator. With it, a forty-minute breakdown splits into who noticed, who called, who travelled and who turned the wrench, each owned by the person who can shorten it.
