Data security & storage
Where your production data lives, how it's protected, and how long it stays yours.
In brief
Your data sits in a Tier III or higher data centre, with redundant power, climate control and around-the-clock monitoring, on Microsoft SQL Server behind a containerised application layer, on RAID 10 storage, and backed up both on-site and off-site. For South African customers it's processed within South Africa. Traffic to and from the platform is encrypted in transit with HTTPS (SSL/TLS); at rest it's protected by access controls and network-level defences. Access is need-to-know and logged, and what each person sees is set by role, down to the individual line (see Roles & access). Augos runs security audits twice a year.
Kept, and readable
Readings are retained for at least five years, so a shift or a line has its own history to be judged against and this year's OEE isn't floating without a baseline. The export format is versioned, so a report pulled today still opens and reconciles years from now.
Traceable and tamper-evident
Every figure traces back to the raw machine pulse it came from, and reports carry an audit trail and a signature. The point is defensibility: a number can be inspected and re-derived from the source events, not just trusted, which is what lets a disputed stop be settled against the ledger rather than an argument.
