Connect your AI
Add Augos to Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio or Claude Code, sign in with your Augos login, and ask about your production in plain words. The app signs in as you, reads only what you can see in Augos, and cannot change your data.
Before you start
You need three things:
- An Augos login with the right role. System Administrators, Administrators and Managers can connect an AI app. Readers, Technicians, Contractors and Tenants cannot.
- An AI app that supports connectors. Claude (web and desktop), ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio and Claude Code all do.
- The Augos address for AI apps:
https://mcp.augos.io/mcp. It is also on the Connect your AI page in Augos: sign in at live.augos.io, open your profile menu (top right) and choose Connect your AI.
You never need an API key, a client ID or a secret. The app registers itself with Augos the first time it connects. When you press Allow, you accept the Augos MCP Connector Terms of Service on behalf of your organisation.
Claude
On claude.ai or Claude Desktop:
- Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add and Custom connector.
- Name it Augos, paste the address and press Continue.
- Authentication: Sign in now. OAuth client: Register automatically. Add no request headers. Under Advanced, Transport: Streamable HTTP. Press Add.
- Press Connect. Claude Desktop opens your browser at "Finish connecting a connector?": press Continue connecting.
- Sign in to Augos if asked, and on "Connect Claude to Augos?" press Allow.
Do not choose "Use Claude's published identity" or "Use your own OAuth client": Augos registers Claude itself. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector once in the organisation settings, and everyone then presses Connect.
ChatGPT
- Open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins) and press Add (top right) to open Add custom MCP server.
- Name: Augos. Description: Reads the energy, utility and production data of the signed-in Augos user. Connection: Server URL, and paste the address. Authentication: OAuth. Leave Advanced OAuth settings as they are.
- Tick I understand and want to continue and press Create as a plugin.
- On "Connect Augos" press Connect Augos, sign in to Augos if asked, and press Allow.
- In a new chat, type @ and choose Augos.
It works on the Free plan. On Business and Enterprise, a workspace admin may have to allow custom MCP servers first.
Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Open your agent, go to Tools, then Add a tool, New tool and Model Context Protocol.
- Server name: Augos. Server description: Reads the energy, utility and production data of the signed-in Augos user. Server URL: the address.
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0. Type: Dynamic discovery. Press Create, then Next.
- Choose Create a new connection, sign in to Augos and press Allow, then press Add to agent.
Each person who chats with the agent signs in with their own Augos account.
Claude Code
Run claude mcp add --transport http augos https://mcp.augos.io/mcp once in a terminal. Then type /mcp in Claude Code, choose augos and Authenticate.
What to ask
Ask the way you would ask a colleague who knows your plant. The app finds the right report, runs it for the period you name and answers from your own measured data. A few that work well:
- "What was OEE on line 2 yesterday, and where did the time go?"
- "Which unplanned stop reason cost the most time this week?"
- "Compare the night shift with the day shift on the bagging line for October."
- "How did operators compare on line 3 last week?"
- "How much planned stop time did we have last month, and for what?"
- "Give me last month's Executive Summary for the plant."
Name lines and sites as they appear in Augos, and give a period. If a name matches more than one point, the app asks which one you mean.
What the app can see
Exactly what you can see in Augos, and nothing more. Every request is checked against your access, point by point, the same as in the platform. A point you cannot see, another client's site or another client's private tariff is refused.
It reads, and changes nothing. It reads counts, stops, shifts and reports. It cannot change a setting, a user or a record. The one thing it can send is a support request to Augos in your name, and it is asked to confirm with you first.
Staff tools stay with Augos staff. Sales, support and user administration are not offered to a connected app.
See Roles & access (RBAC) for how access is set per point.
Check or disconnect
Augos emails you whenever a new AI app is connected to your account: the app, where it signs in from, and the time. If you do not recognise it, disconnect it and change your password.
To see or disconnect your apps, sign in to Augos, open your profile menu and choose Connect your AI. Every connected app is listed with when it was connected and last used. Press Disconnect, and the app loses access within seconds.
A connection lasts while you use it. It lapses after 30 days without use, and after 90 days the app asks you to sign in again.
Using AI safely
What you ask, and what Augos sends back, is handled by your AI app under its own terms. For business data, use a business or enterprise plan whose terms keep your conversations out of model training, and treat an answer as analysis to check: every figure the app quotes comes from a report you can open in Augos. See the Augos guidance on using AI safely, and AI and connectors for exports and the API.
Common questions
Which AI apps can connect?
Claude (web and desktop), ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio and Claude Code, and other AI apps that support MCP connectors with sign-in.
Who in my company can connect?
System Administrators, Administrators and Managers. Readers, Technicians, Contractors and Tenants cannot.
Can the app change anything in Augos?
It cannot change your data, settings or users. Apart from reading, the one thing it can do is raise a support request with Augos in your name, which it is asked to confirm with you first.
Can it see another company's data?
No. It sees exactly the points your login can see, checked on every request. Other clients' sites and private tariffs are refused.
How do I stop an app?
In Augos, open your profile menu, choose Connect your AI and press Disconnect next to the app. It loses access within seconds.
Do I need an API key?
No. The app signs in with your Augos login. An API key is only for your own integrations; see The API.
