OEE calculator, with the owner of every lost minute.
Enter one shift's figures. You get standard OEE, Availability × Performance × Quality, and the thing standard OEE never carried: an estimate of which function can recover each lost minute. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.
Where the time went
Of 450 planned production minutes, 328 produced good units at ideal speed. The rest is split below by the owner who can recover it.
| Owner | What it covers | Minutes | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fully productive | Good units at ideal speed | 328.1 | 72.9% |
| Operator | Changeover and cleaning overrun, interruptions, speed loss from pace | 55.5 | 12.3% |
| Technician | Breakdowns and faults, speed loss from a mechanical limit | 20.0 | 4.4% |
| Planning | Waiting for material, people or instruction | 10.0 | 2.2% |
| Quality | Units that failed quality, at ideal speed | 36.5 | 8.1% |
Estimate from your inputs. Formulas: How to calculate OEE. Owner mapping: OEE+ Owner table, Augos Factory method. Planned stops sit outside planned production time and are not in OEE; Augos measures them separately as Planning Efficiency Loss.
Simplified to four owners. The full Owner column has six: operator, technician, planning, quality, external and shared.

How does the calculator work out OEE?
It uses the standard formula. Availability is run time divided by planned production time; Performance is the units produced divided by what the ideal rate would have produced in that run time; Quality is good units divided by total units. OEE is the product of the three. Every step is on How to calculate OEE.
What is the Owner split?
An estimate of which function can recover each lost minute, using the OEE+ Owner table: breakdowns to the technician, changeover and cleaning overrun and interruptions to the operator, waiting for material or people to planning, and defects to quality. It is calculated from the figures you enter, not from measured data.
Why are planned stops not counted against OEE?
Because the operator is not penalised for following the schedule. Planned stops sit outside planned production time by definition. Augos still measures them, as Planning Efficiency Loss, because the time scheduled is a loss someone owns, and the overrun beyond the standard is a loss the operator owns.
Why does Performance change when I add downtime in counts mode?
Because Performance is units produced per running minute against the ideal rate. If the shift's total count stays the same while run time shrinks, the line must have produced those units faster, so Performance rises. That is the standard formula at work. Use the average-speed mode to vary the three factors independently.
Is the calculator free?
Yes. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere; the arithmetic runs in your browser. The worksheet download is free too.
