Knowledge base / Hardware & deployment
The devices that capture it.
Sealed, battery-powered wireless devices that read at the source and report back, on hardware Augos designs and builds.
1 · In this section
Five articles cover how the hardware connects and what the devices are.
Connectivity
LoRa, NB-IoT, Sigfox and cellular, and when to use each.
LoRa base station
One on-site gateway that carries many sensors.
Temperature sensor
-55 to 125°C, ±0.5°C, five variants.
Water level sensor
Pressure at the tank bottom, 0 to 200 m.
Pulse sensor
Reads any pulse-output water, fuel or gas meter.
Control switches
The Airswitch and valve controllers, with specs.
Deployment
Install, battery life and getting started.
2 · Connectivity at a glance
Sensors report over LoRa, NB-IoT, Sigfox or cellular, chosen to fit the site. On a LoRa deployment one on-site base station carries many sensors, with no SIM in each device. See Connectivity and the LoRa base station.
3 · Built by Augos
Augos designs and manufactures its own sensing hardware, controlling the stack from the sensor to the cloud. Current-generation devices ship with native 4G, and older units can have their modem board swapped to stay online.
