Sensor type

The sensor reads it where it happens, so each point is measured where it matters rather than inferred from a single site figure.

2 · How it's measured

A sealed, battery-powered wireless sensor reads particulate matter at its location and reports it to the platform over LoRa, NB-IoT or Sigfox. There is no wiring to run, and the sensor lasts years on its battery.

How often it reports depends on the device and the network, from once a minute to a few times an hour. Between reports the platform holds every reading, so a trend can be plotted in Charting and a threshold checked continuously.

4 · Alerts & thresholds

Set an upper limit, a lower limit, or both, and Augos tells you the moment a reading crosses it. A rate-of-change alert catches a fast move before the reading even leaves its band. Alerts reach you on WhatsApp, email or SMS, through Triggers and alerts.
