Installer app
The free phone app that guides an electrician through fitting and commissioning a device, and records the install.
1 · What it is
The installer app is a web app: the electrician opens it on their own phone, in Safari or Chrome, and adds it to the home screen. It walks them through the whole job, identifying the device, recording where it is, setting it up and checking it reads correctly, then submits a record of the install, with photos, GPS and the first live readings, back to Augos. 2 · Installing the app
The app lives at installer-app.augos.io and is added to the home screen from the phone’s browser. It must be the device’s main browser, Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android, not an in-app browser such as the one inside WhatsApp or Facebook.
- iPhone: open the link in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android: open the link in Chrome, tap the menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
Launched from the home-screen icon, it opens like a normal app, without a browser address bar.
3 · The installation, step by step
The app leads the electrician through the job in order:
- Identify the device. Scan the QR code on the meter, or enter the device ID by hand if the code will not scan.
- Record the site. Enter the installation address and a note on where the meter sits, then capture the GPS location.
- Set the CT ratio. Read the ratio from the current-transformer clamp and enter the primary and secondary values.
- Check the live data. The app shows the first readings: voltage on every phase, current, power, power factor and signal quality. A negative power reading means a current transformer is the wrong way round, to be fixed before continuing.
- Capture photos. Clear photos of the CT-ratio label, the voltage leads, the meter’s top and bottom terminals, the antenna placement and the DB board.
- Complete and submit. Review the device ID, address, GPS, notes and photos, then submit, and wait for confirmation before leaving site.
4 · If something goes wrong
The most common snags and their fixes:

| Cannot continue past the CT ratio | Enter both the primary and secondary values, and confirm they match the CT label. |
| Readings look wrong after entering the CT ratio | Check the CT label, correct the values, and refresh the live data. |
| “Add to Home Screen” or “Install” is missing | Make sure you are in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android), not an in-app browser. If the link opened inside another app, choose Open in Safari or Open in Chrome. |
5 · Common questions
How do I get the installer app?
It is a web app, opened in the phone’s browser at installer-app.augos.io, on iPhone (Safari) or Android (Chrome), and added to the home screen, where it opens like a normal app.
Who uses it?
The electrician fitting the device. It is built so any qualified electrician can install and commission a meter without a specialist Augos technician on site.
What does it record?
The device ID, the site address and notes, the GPS location, the first live readings, and photos of the install, all submitted to Augos as the record of the job.
How do I know the install worked?
The app shows the live readings on the spot, so the electrician confirms voltage, current, power, power factor and signal before leaving. A wrong reading, such as negative power from a reversed CT, is caught there and then.
