Pulse sensor

The Augos Pulse Sensor turns any pulse-output meter into a connected one. It's the single device behind water, gas, compressed air and fuel.

1 · What it is

The pulse sensor connects to the pulse output of an existing flow meter, water, gas, compressed air or fuel, counts the pulses, and sends the count to the platform, where it becomes volume and flow. It's battery-powered and wireless, so it goes on without wiring or a shutdown, and it counts every pulse regardless of how often it reports, so your totals stay exact even at a longer reporting interval. It mounts magnetically and needs no calibration of its own, the accuracy is whatever the host meter delivers.

2 · What it captures

Consumption (for example in kl), and minimum and maximum flow over a period. Against a tariff, the platform turns that into cost, and it can alert on a consumption deviation or a data anomaly.

What meters does it work with?

Any meter with a pulse output, whether it’s on water, gas, compressed air or fuel. It counts the pulses your existing meter already produces.

Does it need wiring or mains power?

No. It’s battery-powered and wireless, mounts magnetically, and fits with minimal disruption. The battery lasts up to about five years, depending on how often it reports.

Is the total accurate if it reports only every few hours?

Yes. It counts every pulse as it happens; the reporting interval only sets how often those counts are sent. The cumulative total is exact either way.

How accurate is it?

It counts the host meter’s pulses, so the accuracy is whatever that meter delivers. The sensor itself needs no calibration.

What does it use to communicate?

LoRa, NB-IoT or LTE-M, so it can report from places without a wired network.
