Powertrack
PowerTrack is a portable three-phase data logger, fitted for a load study or energy survey where a permanent meter isn't yet in place.
1 · What it is
PowerTrack is a portable energy recorder for a single electrical feed. Where the Nova is a permanent fixture, PowerTrack goes on for a study, days or weeks, then comes off. It profiles the load per phase and as a whole, and the recorded data downloads for analysis. It earns its keep on costing studies, load and capacity surveys, phase balancing, sizing a capacitor bank for power-factor correction, and sizing a generator, and it can verify an existing meter and its CTs.

2 · What it records
Per phase and summed: voltage and current, real power (kW), apparent power (kVA), reactive power (kVAr), power factor, and frequency. It records as an average over each interval into a continuous buffer.

4 · Where it's used
PowerTrack is a standalone instrument. Unlike the Nova, it doesn’t report to the Augos platform: it records to its own memory and the data is downloaded into its own software, installed on a PC, for analysis. It’s used for one-off load and energy studies, and often to scope or validate a site before a permanent Nova is installed to bring that site onto the platform.
5 · Common questions
When would I use PowerTrack instead of a Nova?
When you need a temporary picture rather than permanent metering: a load or capacity study, phase balancing, sizing a capacitor bank or a generator, or verifying an existing meter. It’s often used to scope or validate a site before a permanent Nova goes in.
How long can it record for?
As long as a study needs. It logs to a 4 MB non-volatile buffer at intervals from one second to 60 minutes and holds data for years, so days or weeks of recording is routine.
Can it size a capacitor bank or a generator?
Yes. It profiles the load per phase and as a whole, which is the basis for sizing power-factor correction or a standby generator.
Is it disruptive to fit?
Minimal. It uses clip-on CTs, with flexible coils available up to 1600 A, and goes on for a temporary study with little interference to the site.
