What we measure

Whatever you measure, and wherever, it all lives on one platform.

Every utility and every sensor type, from a single site to a portfolio spread across regions, is read at the source and brought together in the same place. There’s no separate system for each utility and no gap between sites: electricity, water, gas, fuel, compressed air and any other utility you can meter all sit in one hierarchy, costed and trended side by side. This page covers what we capture for each, and how it gets there.

1 · Measured, not estimated

Every figure on the platform is a physical reading taken at the source, not a value worked back from a monthly total or a load profile. That is the difference that lets the numbers be trusted. Metered consumption can be checked line by line against the utility’s bill in Bill verification, and where a parent meter records more than its sub-meters account for, the shortfall is shown as a measured gap in Consumption breakdown rather than being quietly filled with an estimate.

Electricity is read at billing accuracy and calibrated traceable to national measurement standards, so the same reading stands up whether it is informing an operator or supporting a dispute with the supplier.

2 · How it's measured

Augos hardware measures at the source and reports into the Augos platform. Electricity is read at billing accuracy by the Nova meter; water, gas, fuel and compressed air are metered through pulse, flow and level sensors fitted to your existing meters and tanks, so the equipment you already have stays in place.

How often a point reports depends on the device measuring it: a mains-powered meter like the Nova can report down to once a minute, while a battery-powered pulse or level sensor reports less often, up to around twelve hours, to make its battery last. Whatever the interval, the sensor counts every pulse in between, so the total stays exact and the interval only sets how finely you see change over time. Every reading then slots into the same measured hierarchy, parent meter down to sub-meter, so everything sits in one place: costed, trended and checked against the bill.

Every utility and every measurement point sits in a single hierarchy, parent meter down to sub-meter, on one platform. There is no separate system per utility and no gap between sites: a single building and a portfolio spread across regions read into the same place, costed and trended side by side.

What each person sees follows that hierarchy. A user is granted a point and sees that point and everything beneath it, which is how a single tenant, a site manager and a group energy lead each get the right view of the same underlying data. Roles and access covers how that is set.

Whatever is measured is yours to take off the platform, three ways:

  • API, to pull readings live into your own systems.
  • AI-ready data & exports, a structured payload a model or agent can read directly.
  • File export, the same readings as a plain file in the format you need.

6 · Common questions

Does Augos measure more than electricity?

Yes. Electricity, water, gas, fuel and compressed air are all measured and brought into the same hierarchy, costed and trended side by side, rather than sitting in a separate system per utility.

Is any of this estimated or modelled?

No. Every figure traces back to a physical reading. Where a parent meter records more than its sub-meters account for, the difference is shown as a measured gap in Consumption breakdown rather than being filled with an estimate.

Can one platform cover sites in different places?

Yes. A single site or a portfolio spread across regions reads into the same place, so there’s no gap between sites and no separate tool per location.

Who can see which readings?

Visibility follows the hierarchy. A user is granted a point and sees that point and everything beneath it, which is how a sub-meter user or a single tenant is scoped. Roles and access covers how it’s set.
