Water-level sensor

The Augos Water Level Sensor reads how full a tank, dam or reservoir is, from a pressure sensor at the bottom.

1 · What it is

The water-level sensor measures liquid level from a pressure sensor lowered to the bottom of a tank, dam or reservoir, and reports the level to the platform wirelessly. It's used for storage visibility, for overflow and depletion alerts, and for pump control, a falling level can trigger an Augos switch to start a pump. It's battery-powered, mounts magnetically and needs no calibration.

2 · What it captures

Level over a period, the high, the low and the average. Against thresholds you set, it also reports the proportion of time in and out of range, the longest breach and the most recent one, and a count of breaches.

4 · Where it's used

The level sensor sits under water, for tank and reservoir level and pump control. A Triggers alert on level can flag a low tank before it runs dry.

What can it measure the level of?

Tanks, dams, reservoirs and boreholes, across ranges up to 200 m deep.

How does it measure level?

From a pressure sensor lowered to the bottom. The deeper the liquid above it, the greater the pressure, which the platform reads back as a level.

Can it control a pump?

Yes. A falling level can trigger an Augos switch to start a pump, and an alert can flag a tank before it runs dry or overflows.

Does it need power or wiring?

No. It runs on a rechargeable battery that lasts up to about two years per charge, reports wirelessly, mounts magnetically, and needs no calibration.
