Diesel, tank levels, solar and other third-party data
Some of what you see on the platform is measured by Augos hardware, and some is pulled in from someone else's system through their application programming interface. When a third-party feed breaks or changes format, the point stops or goes wrong through no fault of the meter. Tell support and they will look at the integration rather than the hardware.
What you will see
- A diesel or tank monitoring point disappears from your view.
- Readings displayed at a fraction or a multiple of the expected magnitude, for example single digits where thousands are expected.
- A solar generation figure that is lower than you expected, or missing entirely.
- Fuel sensor readings that do not match a dipstick.
Why it happens
Third-party feeds change. Augos sometimes pull diesel and tank data from an external system. If that system changes how it sends data, ingestion breaks until Augos adjusts. This is a standing fragility of any integration, and it is not visible from the meter side. This should not happen where Augos have their own meter installed.
Scope. Where a solar installation was put in by a third party, the Augos points at that site carry municipal supply data only. They do not carry solar generation. If you read a generation or solar income figure off an Augos point that was never metering generation, you will under-read. Generation data has to come from the solar provider's own system.
What to do
- Say what you expected and what you see, with the magnitude. "It should read in the thousands and it reads in single digits" is immediately actionable.
- For solar figures, confirm who installed the metering at that point before assuming the platform is wrong.
- Email
support@augos.iowith the point path and a screenshot.
Good to know
- Where the source is a third-party system, Augos will name that plainly and say what has changed. You should expect to be told the cause, not just that it is fixed.
- Comparing Augos readings against an inverter or plant monitoring system is a reasonable thing to do, but confirm all three phases are being measured on the Augos side first. A missing phase explains most "our other system says something different" reports. See One phase is reading zero.
- Any point that was offline during the comparison period has to be excluded from the comparison, or the result is meaningless.
Still stuck
Email support@augos.io with the point path, what the value should be, what it
shows, and who installed the metering at that point if it is not Augos hardware.
