Access on landlord and tenant sites

On a site where a landlord, estate or property manager holds the Augos account, that account holder decides who gets access. Augos does not grant an occupant or tenant a login without the account holder's authorisation, and will route the request to them.

What you will see

  • A resident or tenant emails Augos directly asking to monitor their own unit, often quoting a meter identifier.
  • A landlord asks for read access to a tenant's site, or the other way round.
  • A tenant disputes a recovery bill and wants to check the readings themselves.

Why it happens

The account holder pays for the metering and is the party Augos contracts with. Occupant access is a commercial decision for them, not a technical one for Augos.

What to do

If you are a tenant or resident: ask your landlord, estate office or managing agent. If you email Augos, they will take your meter identifier and unit, confirm which point it is, and put the request to the account holder. Expect the answer to come back through the landlord.

If you are the landlord or managing agent: email support@augos.io saying which occupants should have access and to which points. Read access for an occupant to their own unit is a normal setup.

What Augos will do

Support identifies the point from the meter identifier or unit number, contacts the account holder, and relays the decision. Where the account holder declines, Augos will say so plainly rather than leaving the request open.

Good to know

  • Tenants often want access precisely because they are querying a recovery bill. A bill verification against the landlord's invoice usually answers that faster than a login would. See Understanding a bill verification variance.
  • If a landlord bills tenants from Augos data, the tenant statements and metering advice reports are the intended output for the tenant, not platform access. See Tenant statements and metering advice.

Still stuck

Tenants: email support@augos.io with your meter identifier, your unit and the estate or building name, and Augos will route it. Landlords: email support@augos.io with the occupant's name, email address and unit.
