Logging in for the first time, and resetting your password

Augos creates your account without a password. Go to https://live.augos.io/, click Generate new password, enter your email address, and Augos emails you a six digit verification code. That code is not your password. You type the code into the verification field, then choose your own password of at least eight characters.

What you will see

  • "I was given access but I cannot log in."
  • "The email gives me a six digit code but the site says it needs eight digits."
  • "I clicked generate new password and no code arrived."

Why it happens

Three things trip people up:

  1. The account has no password to begin with. New users are not sent one. The first login and a password reset follow exactly the same steps.
  2. The six digit code and the password are two different things. The code proves you own the email address. The password is what you choose afterwards, and the minimum length is eight characters. Pasting the six digit code into the password field is the single most common cause of a rejected login.
  3. The code lands in spam. Reset emails come from notifications@augos.io with the subject "Reset your Augos password".

What to do

  1. Go to https://live.augos.io/ (the login page is also reachable at /login).
  2. Click Generate new password.
  3. Enter the email address your access was created against. That address is your username.
  4. Open the email from notifications@augos.io, subject "Reset your Augos password", and copy the six digit code. Check your spam or junk folder if it is not in your inbox within a few minutes.
  5. Enter the code where the code is asked for.
  6. Choose a password of at least eight characters. Enter that in the password field.

If you already have a password and you are just signing in, skip straight to the password field. Do not start the reset process again.

What Augos will do

If the code genuinely does not arrive, support can confirm the account exists, check the address it was created against, and retrieve and send the code manually.

Good to know

  • Your username is always your email address.
  • If your email address has changed, tell support. They edit the address on your existing profile rather than creating a second account, so you keep your access and your history.
  • Replying to the password reset email reaches Augos, but it is a notification address. Send support requests to support@augos.io instead.

Still stuck

Email support@augos.io with the email address you are trying to log in with, and a screenshot of the screen where it fails.
